Luxe Codec XP

Luxe Codec XP is a fake video codec that tries to annoy with popups to get you to buy the full version so it can “improve” your video quality. All Luxe Codec XP does in make the scammers richer and leave you with a worthless fake codec.
Luxe Codec XP generates the following error:

Fatal Error: Windows Cannot Play the Following video formats AVI;ASF;WMV;AVS;FLK;MKV;MOV;3GP;MP4;MPG;MP3;AAC;WAV;WMA;CDA;CDA;FLAC;M4A;MID
Update your video codec to resolve this issue.
Despite what the message says, your computer can play most of those formats.
There are no detailed manual removal instructions for Luxe Codec XP yet so just follow these instructions in the mean time.
Click Start > Run: Type MSCONFIG, Click OK, Uncheck “Load Startup Items“, click OK and restart your computer when prompted. This should stop those annoying popups and make life a little easier. Now click Start > Search, in “What do you want to search for?” Click “All files and folders.” Do a search for Luxe Codec XP and LuxeCodecXP and delete any folder using this name.
