MessengerSkinner

MessengerSkinner is an amazing new program that allows you to customize Windows Live Messenger.
It does have a few issues like generating pop up ads, continuously asking you to pay for it and putting Trojans onto your computer, but asides from those minor details it’s good.
Seriously, if you want to customize Windows Live Messenge, use Messenger Plus and avoid MessengerSkinner. You really don’t want to trust a program that’s listed on the Symantic website. Speaking of which, Symantic have provided some manual removal instructions for MessengerSkinner.
Before you do this, Click Start > Run: Type MSCONFIG, Click OK, Uncheck “Load Startup Items“, click OK and restart your computer when prompted. This should stop those annoying popups and make following give the MessengerSkinner manual removal instructions easier. Also see if there is a folder in your “Program Files” called “Messenger Skinner or MessengerSkinner”. If it is there, delete it.
(FYI: for some links to software we receive a commission. This is one of them. But we wouldn’t recommend Spyware Doctor if we didn’t think it would help.)
