Privacy Center
Posted March 26, 2009
Privacy Center is another fake security program that wants to con you out of your money.
Privacy Center will run a secuirty scan on your computer and tell you about all the nasty infections you have on there. What makes Privacy Center unique though is that is doesn’t really scan your hard drive, you are just looking at an animation. This means that all those infections Privacy Center “found” are completely bogus.
Still interested in buying the “full” version?
Remove-malware.net aren’t impressed with Privacy Center either so they have posted manual removal instructions for Privacy Center.
Before you start removing Privacy Center, Click Start > Run: Type MSCONFIG, Click OK, Uncheck “Load Startup Items“, click OK and restart your computer when prompted. This should stop those annoying popups and make following give the Virus Alarm manual removal instructions easier. Also, see if there is a folder in your “Program Files” called “Privacy Center”. If it is there, delete it.
(FYI: for some links to software we receive a commission. This is one of them. But we wouldn’t recommend Spyware Doctor if we didn’t think it would help.)

Ok- here goes!!! I have run the full, paid version of Spyware Doctor and it absolutely HAS NOT removed Privacy Center from my computer.
I could not care less what you or Spyware Doctor or any other source says about Spyware Doctor- obvioUsly crap and a waste of my money!!!!!!!!!!!!
WHY DIDN’T YOU ACTUALLY TRY IT BEFORE YOU ADVISE PEOPLE TO USE SPYWARE DOCTOR?

Brian B, I have used Spyware Doctor. It’s on my home computer and the PC repair company I work for use it to remove infections. When you do a scan with Spyware Doctor, make sure you select “Full Scan”. It takes a while but it scans every file in your computer. The default “Quick Scan” only scans commonly infected areas.
