To celebrate my birthday, scammers have released a new fake antivirus called Renus 2008.
You scammers do realize that we are in a new year don’t you?
Next time throw me a surprise party.
Renus 2008 (am I the only one who finds that name disturbing?) generates fake security alerts from the moment you boot up your computer for threats threats that aren’t even on your computer to try and trick you into buying the “full” version of Renus 2008.
Unfortunately their aren’t any instructions to manually remove Renus 2008. Your best bet is to find and delete any folder named “Renus 2008″ however that wont completely remove the infection. For now, only running a program like Spyware Doctor will completely remove Renus 2008 and the Trojan that put it on your computer.
