“Limited or no connectivity” Wont Go Away No Matter What You Do

A colleague of mine was doing an everyday installation today that went wrong. For some reason the network connection started saying “Limited or no connectivity”. He tried everything to get it working, even a Windows Repair didn’t fix it.

He had another job to go to so it was left to me to fix, three hours later I of trying everything I could think of, I found the following. Note that this only works on Windows XP with at least service pack 2.

Start > Run > Type “CMD” > OK

In the command prompt window that opens, type type the following commands:

netsh int ip reset reset.log

netsh winsock reset catalog

Reboot the machine.

It worked like a charm.
