VAC Codec
May 11, 2009 by Grabate · Leave a Comment
VAC Codec is a media video codec that tries to annoy you with popups to get you to buy the full version. All VAC Codec does is con you out your money and leave you with a worthless fake codec.
VAC Codec name is very sneaky as it is trying to get people to confuse it with the legitimate VLC Codec.
VAC Codec will generate errors saying that you need a Codec to view a certain media file or will say that your computer is incapable of opening media files unless you buy PC Codec Pack.
There are no detailed manual removal instructions for VAC Codec yet so just follow these instructions in the mean time.
Click Start > Run: Type MSCONFIG, Click OK, Uncheck “Load Startup Items“, click OK and restart your computer when prompted. This should stop those annoying popups and make life a little easier.
Now click Start > Search, in “What do you want to search for?” Click “All files and folders.” Do a search for VAC Codec and delete any folder using this name.

Antivirus Agent Pro

Antivirus Agent Pro is a fake antivirus program that tries to con you out of your money.
If Antivirus Agent Pro were a government agent, he would be had up for treason and be in prison by now. He would be found guilty of slowing down your computer and generating fake security alerts for threats that aren’t even on the computer to try and trick you into buying the full version. You can’t even call Antivirus Agent Pro a double agent as it does nothing for you.
To get rid of Antivirus Agent Pro, you can try and manually remove Antivirus Agent Pro with these instructions. As manually removing any fake antivirus program can be difficult, I recommend you use Spyware Doctor to remove Antivirus Agent Pro instead.

ASC-AntiSpyware is an odd named fake anti-spyware program that tries to con you out of your money.
As far as I am concerned, ASC stands for Another Scam Caught. As well has slowing down your computer, ASC-AntiSpyware generates fake security alerts for threats that aren’t even on the computer to try and trick you into buying the full version. Oh and those viruses ASC-AntiSpyware says it is finding, they don’t exist, at least on your computer.
You can remove ASC-AntiSpyware with these instructions. ASC-AntiSpyware most likely came in a Trojan on be on the lookout for other infections as well.

Netcom3 PC Cleaner

Netcom3 PC Cleaner is another fake anti-spyware program wanting to take your hard earned money.
It’s interesting to note that the scammer’s have actually put some effort in Netcom3 PC Cleaner as netcom3.com is actually a very nice website unlike the the one page copies other fake anti-spyware programs put up.
That is where the effort ends as Netcom3 PC Cleaner does the usual things like bombard you with fake security alerts to trick you into buying the “full” as well as slowing down your computer.
You probably got Netcom3 PC Cleaner from a Trojan disguised as legitimate file that you downloaded or you were fooled by the legit looking website. Fortunately you can remove Netcom3 PC Cleaner with these instructions.

MicrosoftAntivirus

Continuing the days trend of hastily named fake antivirus programs, I present MicrosoftAntivirus.
The fact that you are reading about it on a website called Damn Trojan should be a big a sign that MicrosoftAntivirus has nothing to do with Microsoft or even Antivirus software. Good job using the name of one of largest companies in the world. Good luck with the law suit guys.
You can remove MicrosoftAntivirus with these instructions.

My Supervisor

I often wonder what goes through scammer’s heads when they name a fake antivirus program.
“Ok guys, we need a name for this weeks program. All the good ones are taken, any ideas?”
“I know, My Supervisor, It has nothing to do with spyware removal and it will generate warm fuzzy feelings of the great supervisors our Marks are sure to have.”
“Genius, and here I was thinking of Mr Spyware Protection.”
I suppose the name My Supervisor is appropriate for this program, it’s really annoying, slows you your computer down, bombards you with fake security alerts, doesn’t appreciate any of the hard work you do or the long hours you put in. I have a life too Mr Prefectionist….
Sorry, I went of track there, you can remove My Supervisor AKA – My Supervisor Total Doctor with these instructions

XP Police Antivirus is a fake antivirus program that tries to con you out of your money.
If XP Police Antivirus were part of the police force, it would have been busted by Internal Affairs a long time ago. As well has slowing down your computer, XP Police Antivirus generates fake security alerts for threats that aren’t even on the computer to try and trick you into buying the full version. Talk about planting the evidence.
To get rid of XP Police Antivirus, you will have to partake in a vigilante action and manually remove XP Police Antivirus with these instructions. As manually removing any fake antivirus program can be difficult, I recommend you use Spyware Doctor to remove XP Police Antivirus instead.

Total Defender

Total Defender is a new breed of fake antivirus programs. You see Total Defender is psychic.
I visited http://total-defender.com/ where it did a scan and told me I was infected with 14 viruses. It did this without even scanning the hard drive. This is like a psychic telling you have never met telling you what you have had for dinner for the past week.
However like a psychic, all Total Defender is doing is making guesses in order to get money out of you. It does this by bombarding you with security alerts to scare you into buying the full version.
I foresee that following the instructions to manually remove Total Defender will serve you better than buying it.
