If you use an LCD screen on your Windows XP computer, do you have ClearType enabled?
ClearType can improve the quality of the text that appears on your screen. A good example of the difference between having ClearType enabled or disabled can be found on this Microsoft Web page. Visiting this page after turning on ClearType will also allow you to fine tune it.
If you want to enable ClearType, just follow these instructions:
Right click on a blank area of the Desktop and Select Properties.
Click on the Appearance Tab, Click the Effects button.
The second drop down box will either say Standard or ClearType. If it’s showing Standard, Click the down arrow next to Standard and select ClearType.
Click Ok.
Click Ok in Display Properties.
ClearType is now enabled. Don’t forget to visit the ClearType Tuner webpage to fine tune ClearType to your liking.
