SecretService

SecretService is just a fake antivirus program that wants to take a bullet for you scam you out of your money.

All SecretService does is give you false alarms as it ties to scare you with fake security alerts for threats that aren’t even on your computer to trick you into buying the full version. The only “Secret Service” you will find running on your computer is the Trojan that put it on there in the first place.

There are no detailed removal instructions for SecretService yet so in the mean time, just follow these instructions:

Click Start > Run: Type MSCONFIG, Click OK, Uncheck “Load Startup Items”, click OK and restart your computer when prompted. This should stop those annoying popups and make following give the SecretService manual removal instructions easier. Also see if there is a folder in your “Program Files” called “SecretService “. If it is there, delete it.

Antivirus Protection is just another fake antivirus program that wants to scam you out of your money.

I think the name Antivirus Protection it is very accurate. Once Antivirus Protection gets onto your computer, it will be very difficult to install a legit Antivirus program to try and remove so it really is “Antivirus Protection”

Terminator 2009 is a “I’m going to be sued out of existence by Hollywood” fake antivirus wanting to scam you out of your money.

Terminator 2009 was probably created by the same genius who decided that that Terminators are USB compatible in the latest movie.

From the moment it gets on your computer courtesy of a Trojan, Terminator 2009 will hit you with fake alerts for threats that aren’t even on your computer to try and trick you into buying the “full” version of Secure Antivirus Pro.

There aren’t any instructions yet to remove Terminator 2009 so in mean time, follow these instructions before Terminator 2009 becomes self aware:

Click Start > Run: Type MSCONFIG, Click OK

Wind Optimizer is a fake windows optimization program that wants to con you out of your money.

It is called Wind Optimizer because for all I know, it probably does optimize the wind. What ever it does, Wind Optimizer doesn’t do jack to your computer expect bombard you with popups for errors that aren’t on your computer to trick you into buying the full version.

Luckily you can blow away Wind Optimizer with the Wind Optimizer removal instructions.

Before you do that, Click Start > Run: Type MSCONFIG, Click OK, Uncheck “Load Startup Items“, click OK and restart your computer when prompted. This should stop those annoying popups. Now click Start, Search, All File and Folders, and see if there is a folder called Wind Optimizer. If it is there, delete it.

Barracuda Antivirus is another fake antivirus program that wants to scam you out of your money.

Barracuda Antivirus is trying to get you to confuse it with the legitimate Barracuda Networks antivirus hardware which is designed for servers.

Barracuda Antivirus will run a fancy looking security scan on your computer and tell you about all the nasty infections you have on there. Barracuda Antivirus doesn’t really scan your hard drive, you are just looking at an animation. This means that all those infections Barracuda Antivirus “found” are fake

XP Deluxe Protector is another fake antivirus program that sounds like it belongs on a McDonalds menu.

Windows 7 is being released this year, when are scammers going to give up using the XP brand on their programs.

XP Deluxe Protector will run a fancy looking security scan on your computer and tell you about all the nasty infections you have on there. XP Deluxe Protector doesn’t really scan your hard drive, you are just looking at an animation. This means that all those infections XP Deluxe Protector “found” are fake.

Unvirex is another odd named fake antivirus wanting to scam you out of your money.

Unvirex tricks it’s way onto your computer by pretending to be a video codec. Once on, this “video codec” “scans” your computer and then bombards you with fake alerts for threats that aren’t even on your computer to try and trick you into buying the “full” version of Unvirex .

Fortunately there are instructions to help you manually remove Unvirex . Before you follow these instructions:

Click Start > Run: Type MSCONFIG, Click OK

Uncheck “Load Startup Items“, click OK and restart your computer when prompted. This should stop the Unvirex popups. Also see if there is a folder in your “Program Files” called “Unvirex “. If it is there, delete it.

Antivirus Doktor 2009 Registry Doktor 2009 is another fake antivirus registry cleaner that wants to con you out of your money.

Why am I recyclying the old Antivirus Doktor 2009 post? Because they are both the same program, just with different names.

Antivirus Doktor 2009 Registry Doktor 2009 will “run” a security registry scan on your computer and tell you about all the nasty infections you have on there. Antivirus Doktor 2009 Registry Doktor 2009 doesn’t really scan your hard drive registry, you are just looking at an animation. This means that all those infections Antivirus Doktor 2009 Registry Doktor 2009 “found” are completely bogus.

All Advanced Virus Remover is designed to do is generate popups as soon you you start up your computer so it can scare you into buying the “full” version of Advanced Virus Remover. Advanced Virus Remover does this by saying you have various infections on your computer and if you cough up, it will remove them.

Advanced Virus Remover has been reported to generate the following popups:

Critical vulnerabilities found! Proactive system found several active vulnerabilities on your computer. Please read the following instructions before you continue. There are no detailed manual removal instructions for Malware Catcher yet so just follow these instructions in the mean time.

Now click Start > Search, in “What do you want to search for?” Click “All files and folders.” Do a search for Advanced Virus Remover and delete any folder using this name.

VSCodec PRO

VSCodec PRO is a fake media video codec that is currently circulating around porn sites so try not to infect yourself with this at work.

VSCodec PRO will generate errors saying that you need a Codec to view a certain media file or will say that your computer is incapable of opening media files unless you buy VSCodec PRO. This is to try to get you to waste money on this worthless program.

On the bright side, PC Codec Pack’s website is entertaining, I love their user comment for this program which on the the main page.

Just super! Older come was on a half-day tune codecs, and now only two minuty and lose all the films are. A quality – generally superior. I do not think that this can be increase it. Thanks for the cool program.
