Those scammers are creative geniuses.

System Security 2009 is designed to con you out of your money so it no idea how to protect your computer and was most likely put there by a Trojan. All System Security 2009 can do is generate popups as soon you you start up your computer so it can scare you into buying the “full” version of System Security 2009. The infections aren’t even on your computer so you don’t have to worry about removing them

You can try to remove System Security 2009 with these instructions.

Before you do that, Click Start > Run: Type MSCONFIG, Click OK, Uncheck “Load Startup Items“, click OK and restart your computer when prompted. This should stop those annoying popups and make life a little easier.

Now click Start > Search, in “What do you want to search for?” Click “All files and folders.” Do a search for System Security 2009 and delete any folder using this name.
