Winlock.19

Spywarevoid.com is talking about an annoying scam called Winlock.19

When you boot into your computer, a message pops up saying that your computer has been locked and you can get the unlock code by texting a certain number. I don’t think many people will be doing that though considering that the entire message is in Russian.

Apparently you will be able to boot into your computer normally after two hours but it’s easy enough to fix so you don’t have to wait. My guess is that Winlock.19 has disabled Windows Explorer and put it self in the startup menu, something I have been seeing more malware scams do recently. Luckily I have written an article on how to fix this so you will be able to log back in to your computer if you are infected by Winlock.19.

Once you have done that, be sure to run virus scan.
